An Evening with Ibtisam Barakat
Acclaimed Palestinian-American Author

Acclaimed AuthorIbtisam Barakat will discuss her writing journey which started as a refuge from the hardship of living under occupation, and eventually led to her authorship of the international memoir "TASTING THE SKY, a Palestinian Childhood" which won more than twenty awards and honors, including the International Reading Association's Best Non-Fiction Book, and is currently available in several languages. The bilingual author will also address her choice of focusing on the personal narrative, spoken from a young person's perspective, as a key to the global conversation about Palestine and its people. The presentation will include reciting selected poems and reading selected passages.

Q and A session will be followed by book singing of TASTING THE SKY.
