Al-Awda, The Palestine Right to Return
Coalition, is pleased to announce that we are soliciting
grant applications from new and established chapters of
our organization.
Up to ten one thousand dollar awards are
available.
These grants are intended to help empower
the work of our chapters. The deadline for submission of
the grant applications is September 30, 2005. Awards will
be announced October 15, 2005.
The applications should be one page and
no more than two pages in length and include a) brief summary
of proposed work or project and its importance, b) a description
of the mechanics of the proposed work or project c) the
significance of the work to the local chapter, d) significance
of the work or project to Al-Awda and the Right to Return
movement in general, e) proposed budget and f) evidence
that the chapter's bank account is compliant with state
and federal regulations.
Proposals may be submitted electronically
to Chapter-Grants@Al-Awda.Org
Applications will be reviewed by Al-Awda's
Executive Committee, and the results of this review and
awards will be announced October 15, 2005. The awards will
be distributed no later than a week after the announcement
of the awards.
Exception to review:
Members of the Executive Committee whose chapter's proposal
is under review would be excused from this part of the review
process.
Administration: Awards
will be distributed directly into local chapter accounts
as one lump sum no later than a week from the announcement
of the awards. Chapters may request that their awards be
administered through the national account via the national
treasurer for an interim period during which their bank
account is set up.
Reports: Chapters must
provide a final report in writing by September 30, 2006.
This report should provide a description of the work performed
and its relationship to what was originally proposed, b)
the results of the work including details on how the award
was spent, and on any
funds raised as a consequence. Future funding is contingent
on the availability of such reports.
